Katherine is passionate about integrating acupuncture with mainstream services through public education, quality research and refined communication with other healthcare professionals. Katherine completed a Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc) Traditional Chinese Medicine at Victoria University, Australia in 2000, and in 2001 received a Certificate of Advanced Clinical Practice from Dalian Chinese Medicine Hospital, PR China. In 2006 she graduated from the University of Technology Sydney with a Masters in Science (MSc) for research, a clinical trial at a Sydney Hospital, which centered on the use of acupuncture as an adjunct treatment for patients in a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. Katherine is passionate about helping people with alcohol and other drug problems and is an accredited Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS) and trainer of the NADA ear acupuncture protocol, having received specialist training in New York in 2007. Prior to moving to the UK in 2008, she was employed as a sessional lecturer, clinical supervisor and tutor at the University of Technology Sydney Australia 2002 – 2006. While in England, Katherine worked for the Journal of Chinese Medicine and Balance Healthcare and was a guest lecturer at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine. By running marketing and business development courses, Katherine is committed to helping students and new graduates achieve their goals and succeed in practice. She now lives in Ibiza Spain where she runs a private drug detox service, raises her young family and swims daily.
