Australian acupuncture is a well-regulated industry.

In 2012 all Chinese medicine practitioners must be registered under the national registration and accreditation scheme with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia (CMBA) and meet the Board’s Registration Standards, in order to practice in Australia.

Acupuncturists must continue to study every year to remain in the profession.
